Former teen heartthrob Corey Haim set to star in thriller at 17:05 on May 12, 2009, EDT.
By THE CANADIAN PRESS TORONTO - Former teen heartthrob Corey Haim is continuing his comeback bid with a lead role in an action thriller. Global Universal Pictures, Inc. says the Toronto-based actor will star in "American Sunset," about "a man that travels to hell and back to save his wife." Haim recently returned to the spotlight with a reality show called "The Two Coreys," alongside former teen star Corey Feldman, and appeared in the Jason Statham action film, "Crank: High Voltage." Haim shot to stardom as a teen in such '80s flicks as "The Lost Boys," "Lucas" and "Silver Bullet" before his career was reportedly derailed by drug addiction. "American Sunset"'s writer/producer, Jackie Giroux, says principal photography is wrapping up now in Canada and that the film will be ready for release in the fall.
