Damn I'm still confused. Nevermind.

SCNDLS your first reply looked like you were having an affair with a married person and asking if it was okay or not to use a condom - as if that married person you were with was safe.

I ran a marathon for AIDS once, raised a bunch of money - and now AIDS is bigger than ever.

Actually my question had nothing to do with an affair of any kind. I was asking if you guys on here that are married use condoms with your spouses.

Uh oh. lol

Well, yes I can see why you're scared. lol

For me, there was always another alternative that was even more effective than condoms and much nicer. (When I was married.)

Umm, when is that NOT present?? hammer

I'm assuming that means when the act is not completed, though miniscule traces of pre-ejaculatory fluid often still are present. Perhaps the assumption is that those traces are so tiny as to present no real threat of transmitting the virus.

I think I'd still assume some risk, though. No harm in that.

That's my point - who the hell is gonna monitor his pre-ejaculatory fluid? lol

saliva kills HIV.

Really? eek
But when a man ejaculates in your mouth I guess that won't help.

the presence of oxygen kills hiv. outside of the body it's very weak virus.

Yes. That too.
Unless you accept the risks at hand and accept that you are partly responsible if something should happen.

Unpopular stance. I already took it on another thread a while back for this. lol
[Edited 5/11/09 14:56pm]

I sided with you then, and I will now.

Monogamy is a lovely idea, and in a perfect world everyone could trust that their spouse was faithful. But we don't live in a perfect world, and people will cheat.

Unless you're a straight couple trying for a kid, or both of you get regular -and I do mean regular -std checks, keep it wrapped up. Trust should never trump safety.

I seriously hope you're joking. Not only is that almost a surefire way to get the chick pregnant, it doesn't protect against STD's either. Pre-cum carries disease too.

In my experience, if da lady loves her body, she'll know when she can and can't get preggerz. admittedly this isn't always the case. As for STDs, that usually only gives reason for concern in a non-monogamous welationship.

I'm talking about my own, personal and subjective experiences, I'm not preaching to the masses. So, don't try this at home kids! wink

SOME women can tell, but it takes a whole lot of work to figure it out and most women, no matter how self- and body-loving they are, are not going to take the time to figure it out. It's too much of a gamble to hope you ended up with a chick who does measure her body clock, and even if you do it's not an exact science. Mistakes can be made, and you could end up with 18 years of responsibility. And like I said before: Monogamy is a great idea but no matter how much you might trust and love your partner you cannot 100% guarantee their faithfulness.

Only a dumbass uses pulling out as protection against anything.

I recently turned down a guy for offering to just pull out. Told him I thought he was awesome and cute and all kinds of shit, but no thanks. Neither of us had a condom on hand and I'm not currently on the pill or anything so getting freaky was just not going to happen. I don't know if he has anything, he shouldn't trust that I don't, (I don't, but the point is...) and I'm sure neither of us wanted to see a Meow85 Junior kicking around anytime soon.
