So true.

I have to say, though, I always thought Danzig might have been hot if he were born COMPLETELY mute. zipped

Nope. You're part of the Millennial generation. For demographic purposes, the generations go like this:

Birth years 1900-1923: G.I. Generation (a.k.a. the Greatest generation) - lived through and came of age during the Great Depression and WWII.

Birth years 1924-1942: Silent Generation - were born during the Great Depression and were too young to fight in WWII; they were the teens of the 1950's and early 1960's who married young and had their lives upended by the events of the late 1960's and 1970's

Birth years 1943-1964: Baby Boom Generation - compromised one of the largest group of people born in America in one generational period. They were born after WWII and were the major instigators of the tumultuous events of the late 1960's and 1970's, not to mention the original yuppies and culture warriors.

Birth years 1965-1980: Generation X - were born during the tumultous 1960's and 1970's; were often the latch key children and victims of parental divorce. Also missed out on the more fun aspects of the Baby Boom years and came of age sexually as AIDS first surfaced.

Birth years 1981-1999: Millennial Generation (a.k.a. Generation Y and Z) - were primarily the children of the Baby Boomers, they came of age as the new millennium turned (therefore their name); Gen-Y were the original "Baby On Board" generation who were raised to believe they could be anything they wanted to be; often shuttled to soccer practice and other afterschool activities as children; Gen-Z are currently in school

Birth years 2000-present: Post-Millennial Generation (no snappy nickname as of yet) - They were born around September 11th and its aftermath.

There's not enough time to go into the characteristics of each generation, but the best material I've found about this is here:

Generations: The History of America's Future, 1584 to 2069 by Neil Howe and William Strauss

The Fourth Turning by Neil Howe and William Strauss

Millennials Rising: The Next Great Generation by Neil Howe, William Strauss and R.J. Matson

I'd dispute that. Not that my generation isn't by and large comprised of self-centred little fucks, but based on my daily interactions, there is no more self-absorbed demographic than the Xers.

I was 10-years-old when Purple Rain (The Movie) was release in theaters. That was 1984. Keyboard Synthesizers. New Wave. Synth-Funk. Jeri Curls (Thank f***ing goodness I never had them!). Dynasty. Transformers.

Those were the days.
