Here isn't so bad - but I doubt we'll still be in the top 10 next year when the recession is factored in.

I´m surprised that Hawaii isn´t on the list. It has that cliché image of being a happy place, despite the unemployment rate. And what about California ? San Diego ? Big Sur ? I thought those would be happy places, too. At least I´d be happy there or in Hawaii.

Finland surprises me .I heard that they have a high number of people who suffer from depression due to the lack of sunlight, and they also drink a lot and have a high suicide rate, haven´t they?

Ten years ago, I probably would have been the happiest man on Earth if I lived in Holland. These days I think one has to be born there to be completely happy. Or you have to be American.Still a nice country though.

Canada! woot! We're number 6! We're number 6! lol

No really, being ranked 6th happiest country out of the world is pretty swell.

Not sure how I feel about that pic used to represent us though. It was 28 degrees Celsius here today. That's 82 Fahrenheit to you Yanks. razz

Canada rocks! One of the greatest countries to live in.

lol Yeah, I know...but still. I mean, world´s happiest "places", and no mention of Hawaii and California ? And cold ass countries are in the top three ? With suicides and drinking problems ? Alright then.

falloff

Yeah the title says "places" but come on, the report is about countries. I even listed the top ten with pictures! lol

And yeah Finland seems a little high, but Denmark and the Netherlands are likely candidates. The report focuses on factors like economic wealth and social well being. These countries apparantly did wel. smile

Apparantly the UK in general has less economic wealth and social well being, which is not surprising considering the mortgage crisis and recession hit the UK hard.

People I know there get soooo much holiday time -- over 5 weeks or more annually. You don't live to work out there and that's admirable.
