disbelief

I am wondering why this has become a news story though. People hunt birds, ducks, deer in the USA... nobody bats an eye. How long did those animals suffer in pain before they died...

I've done shooting for sport, but would never randomly shoot an animal for fun.

Because I am a meat eater, I do understand and support people who hunt for food sustainance. From my experience visiting people on farms (in the EU and Asia),it's tough to actually witness where your food is coming from, and even if you're not involved, to witness the cycle of life and death amongst the animals between domesticated and wild(er) predators is sobering, because you realize that the American Purdue Chicken is a myth...While I still am fine with eating meat, I will admit that with freshly hunted things I still have difficulty with hair/feather removal/skinning, but I can gut or chop...I am a carnivore, pure and (maybe not so) simple...but somehow I disapprove of people who hunt something that they will not eat or share with others for food survival. I think about American families we have on the Northeast coast and their islands or Alaska (not the Palin folks, obviously) and how they do their hunting not for entertainment, but to have food to survive the icy winters... it's tough for me to think that some would think they should not be allowed to hunt to feed their families...anyhoo

...sorry, I'm rambling with no clear point... hrmph

But anyhow, I think this woman is a jackass, she's not doing it to provide a village with any kind food/survival sustainace issue, so I don't agree with her actions at all.
