Elizabeth Edwards on Oprah

I'm kinda watching it now and I'm thinking she made way too many excuses for John's cheatin' ass. BUT I'm willing to give her a pass cuz she's terminally ill and leaving two young kids behind so what would be the point of getting divorced now. Regardless, she pretty much absolved him of most of the blame and told the "other woman" she should get her own man. whofarted

What'd ya'll think?

I just hope that other woman feels like shit.
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Knowing this side of the story -- at the peril of causing this to be moved to P&R -- it bothers me all the more how Elizabeth Edwards was used during the primaries as John Edwards' attack dog.

For some months early on, he almost seemed to be hiding behind his terminally ill wife by having her say the most outrageous things -- the lowest of which was that Obama was getting so much attention because he was black (not long after Edwards hyped his odds for winning the presidency because, statistically, he was the only major Democratic candidate who was a white male).

I'm trying to muster sympathy, because theirs is a sad, sordid tale. But a lot of what they did in the past year or so was just plain slimy.
