I'm so sorry. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I've seen this posted in various forums that i'm a member of. I have to echo all the condolences here and I dread the day when I go through this. I hope this helps somewhat.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Thanks again to everyone. Your kind words and thoughts are REALLY appreciated.
As for Marley-poo, I was scheduled to do the deed yesterday but after two weeks of not eating, lil man actually ate the shit outta some Chik Fil A the other night and throughout the day yesterday. Plus he perked up and wanted to walk around to check things out so I couldn't bring myself to do it. And since the doctor said he's not in pain I think I'ma take my cue from him. We've spent the last two days in bed cuddling. I rescheduled for this evening and although he ate some more waffle fries (you know this is MY child after all ) his energy is lower than it was yesterday. So I think we'll be going in today. Thank God my best friend Fred is taking me cuz I think I'ma need somebody to scoop me up off the floor. But I know I've gotta do it. Anyway, thanks again for your kindness and consideration.

I just talked to my vet and she said that since he's not in pain and he's eating again and trying to get around that there's no rush to do it. She said that he will tell me when he's ready to go. He's been showing me flashes of his spunkiness so I think we'll take it day by day and I'll enjoy getting to love on him and spoil him a lil longer. But all these trips to chik fil a and not working out for the last week or so are starting to take it's toll.

The vet is absolutely right, your little buddy will let you know when he's ready to go. You will know when the time is right. Hopefully, that won't be any time soon, so you get to keep him for awhile. Congrats!!!!! typo edit [Edited 5/7/09 12:58pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

He perked up for a few weeks after the diagnosis and we were able to spend a little more time loving and caring for him. When he finally let go I knew it was time...I'm glad you'll have someone with you for support. My son was there to comfort me and I was grateful for that.
