Hmm ...

well we would notice the wind because we live on the side of the mountian. We have had just regular storms that sound/feel like the roof is comming off.

I don't have much fear issue with storms, actually I have a bit of an unhealthy risk attraction to them eek

In the city, yes, there is an alarm system they can sound but that's about 40 minutes away and we would not hear that
I am storm sensitive and usually wake several minutes before they come in - you can see them comming across the mountians and you usually have about 5 minutes from then before they reach our home

I'm just not bothered/worried about it

I supposed if I am to die that way then that's how I will die

eek

lol

Where I lived in Mississippi they had a siren that would sound whenever there was a tornado. It's loud enough to hear.

About 2 years ago when we were in MS there was a tornado that ripped through my son's school. He was a couple hundred feet away from the path it tore through the school.

Scared the total shit out of me. So much so that I ran a mile in the pouring rain to get to him. I couldn't get there by car.

My lord... I'm happy to hear that you and your baby made it through safely...

Goodness, how "mother hen" and survival instinct can kick in and push us forward during the direst of moments.... butterfly

Maybe its because Ive never experienced it or grown up with it ....for instance ..earthquakes don't bother me being from New Zealand ..but when we were there last year and lying in bed and experienced one...my husband jumped out of bed and was ready to pack and leave (hes Australian) falloff
But yeah the whole thought of a tornado scares the crap out of me ...love storms though mushy

I think that was the same day we had a warning here....down in SC. I had just got off work @ 11 p.m, and I went into iHOP to order something. While I'm waiting for my food, workers come out of the kitchen say that there's a tornado warning. It was starting to storm too. I was pissed, hoping I didn't have to say stuck in iHOP because of a tornado. The cashier was wondering what the hell I'm doing ordering pancakes in the middle of a storm. We just had a couple of small tornadoes come through our city a few weeks ago. It did noticeable damage, mainly to the neighbor city. I'm kinda fascinated by them to be honest. I'd like to see a massive one up close.
