CHEWING GUM POPPERS UNITE!!!!!!!

Fellow Gum Poppers,
We’re such a misunderstood breed. People hate us. disbelief We irk them, we annoy the hell out of them, we drive them crazy with the pop-snap-crack-pop of our chewing gum. mad But we can’t help ourselves (well, I certainly can’t) wink shrug
Gum poppers, share your story here. How did you come to start popping gum, why do you do it, and do you drive non-gum-popping (i.e., nerds)people nuts with it? biggrin

I'm a "popper" when I am frazzled or rushed...

It's annoying, but I can't seem to stop when I find myself doing it.

I could never learn how to do this, even after years of my sister trying to teach me.

Being able to chew slightly to the side, push the gum to the side, flatten it out, flip it so that it folds with an air pocket, and then POP.

Is it a female thing? Maybe to practice doing something else wit yo mouth evillol

I must admit, Yes I am a gum popper. I love it. I can almost remember when I learned as a youngster to flip it and pop, snap.

In fact, I won't buy a gum that doesn't pop. And, I don't care if it annoys people. It's better than what most folks are doing, especially at work.

Great thread.

And I think the gum was gushers or am I thinking of something else.boxed

Girl you know it! nod A nightclub or a concert is the ideal place to pop your gum like crazy, cuz the music's so loud, no one notices lol But I'm a CHRONIC gum popper. I pop it at work, I used to pop it at school (I was reprimanded by MANY a teacher over the years) I'm actually not as bad as I used to be with it. I'm able to control my popping more on purpose.

I learned from this woman years ago, when I was a small child. It fascinated me, to see her pop her gum at will. I can't explain just how you do it. I used to try and try to do it at first, and nothing happened. Then one day, I just chewed it, relaxed, and suddenly, I was poppin' and clackin' lol I think being relaxed about it is the key, don't try to hard to pop it, and use the tip of your teeth to do it.

When my father quit smoking he chewed gum like he used to smoke. Went through 5 and 6 packs of gum a day!!!

But he wasn't havin that HubbaBubba Bubblicious BubbleYum bullshit... the colors were too gay for him. That and childish. He was a straight up Wrigley's man. Even Juicy Fruit was cuttin it too close for him.

Does candy have an age or gender connotation?

I pop when I'm alone... I can do it really loud so it's even more irritating than the other weaklings who try wink

I go through a pack of gum in about three days, my favorite being Wrigley's Polar Ice (it keeps the flavor the longest). It's the reason I have great teeth (no cavities) and don't smoke like a fiend. Oral fixation, dontcha know

My fave used to be Wrigley's spearmint, then I moved to Extra sugarfree Winterfresh gum, but NOW my absolute fave is Extra Polar Ice (just like U natsume) The taste just wakes my mouth up.
