how LEGIT are those "get paid filling out surveys" sites?

Really.

Stupid question, I know.

But I wouldn't be surprised if there was someone on the .org that might've tried it out.

Not sure, but it sounds like a scam to me. Be wary of any job posting that promises money for little work. Not counting CEO's and the like, of course. wink

My rule: Any job posting that neglects to mention the name of the company or employer, or that uses unprofessional grammar i.e. exclamation marks or a conversational tone is suspicious.

Fair enough, those types of listings are a pain in my ass when i'm trying to look for an actual job
it's just that after reading a few... like this one http://www.hotjobs.ca/job...source=SRP
i start wondering...

I know how you feel. It's so tempting, especially when you're hitting the several week period of not being able to find employment, like I am. But stuff like that doesn't look legit to me.

I do not know if this is the same thing...but I have been dumb enough to fill out forms for "free stuff" "free samples" if you fill out the survey.
1) The survey never seems to end. mad
2) I get put on every sucker e-mail list, phone call list for months! mad
3) My "free" item never comes. mad
Why do I set myself up for this! err

i'm desperate right now, hence my clouded judgement.
i'm done university and realized that my degree means fuck all.
we're in the middle of a recession - especially where i'm living - and there aren't any jobs at all - for anyone.
the student loan office will be tapping on my door come october (6 months after you graduate is when they begin payments) and i won't be able to do much more than shrug my shoulders while displaying empty pockets.

i'm stuck - and thought i would ask.
sad

i obviously know better but i felt it couldn't hurt much more than i'm hurting now to ask...

hug

I'm in more or less the same boat. I'm not done my degree yet, but I won't be able to do piss all with it once I am. I've been trying to get a 2nd job for months now with no luck. Even things like retail are suffering right now.

Plasma won't work. Donors aren't paid in Canada.

I know, I checked. I was thinking of selling some of my eggs to make some cash, but it's strictly volunteer up here.

sigh

Contact the bank that holds your student loan about an economic hardship deferment once you're out of your grace period. It'll give you a few months to a year of not having to make payments while you try to find a job.

I had a difficult time finding work after I was finished with school this past January. I ended up volunteering at a place that then ended up hiring me after a month, so you never know. Sometimes working for free for a bit can pay off in the end.

Best of luck.

do you have Plato's Closet in Canada? They'll buy your clothes from you. I sold some of my clothes to them before moving from Louisiana.

I have done it before. It takes awhile to get anything from them. You have to accumulate a certain amount of points to redeem towards cash or items. I think over two years I recevied $50. I did receive some decent samples to test at home.
