Fresh Prince’ Co-Star Slams Will Smith In New Tell-All Book

http://justjared.buzznet....ill-smith/

Former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Janet Hubert, aka Aunt Viv, has penned a tell-all memoir that lashes out at Will Smith for sabotaging her and other actors who worked on the hit comedy.

The 53-year-old actress was fired from the show in 1993 and replaced by actress Daphne Maxwell Reid. Her book “Perfection Is Not A Sitcom Mom” will be released in early 2010.

Here are some explosive excerpts from the book via BVBuzz:

On Will Smith sabotaging his co-stars: “Smith had people around him who made sure no one outshone him. I was happy to see Don Cheadle become the quality actor that he is, and often wondered how he made it past one episode, as Hilary’s boyfriend, being such a fierce actor. No one could be on The Tonight Show, that first season, except Will. And I mean no one.”

On a guest star being too impressive an an early rehearsal: “I recall the lovely and incredibly talented Countess Vaughn coming to guest star. Oh my God! The day of table read, she was pee-in-your-pants funny. The writers were howling, we were howling, so I knew she was history – banished into the cornfield. Many years later, after she had her own show, I had to tell her when she asked me why. ‘Miss Janet why did I get cut from the episode,’ she asked? Simply, my darling, you were too good.”

and this is the only reason why the book would sale, i never even knew her name and doubt that i'll retain it. And yeah, so what, Will was young and ambitious. the road to fame is always paved with broken hearts, like it or not.

It´s funny, even though I like Will Smith, I still don´t really regard him as a "proper" actor because I grew up listening to his rap albums and will always remember him as that guy from "Fresh Prince and Dj Jazzy Jeff", with Girls Ain´t Nothing But Trouble and Jeff´s "transformer scratch".

Sure, he is an actor and had a solo rap career under his real name but somehow he´s still that guy from way back in the days for me. I still have his old cassettes from 1986. lol

I can't believe how incredibly popular it is with the early 20's crowd these days.

Oh well I loved the show and it made me laugh, although I didn't like it when they replaced Janet Hubert, over here I really didn't know as to why she was replaced.

Well YEA, I know the basic reason lol I just think it's sad to have to reach so far back for relevance disbelief Will's been huge for years, she could have done this then & still made $ yet been a little closer to the time of the show. It would seem a bit less sad then, but here she is in 2009, ugh... it's just sad, she must be desperate...

Seriously, she needs to move on. Her removal from the show may not have been done in the best way or under the best terms but what's the point of bringing it up again? If this is the 'explosive excerpt' then I doubt she has a bestseller on her hands. And what's up with the title? Perfection is Not A Sitcom Mom? Awkward. She's not exactly the person I think of when I think of great sitcom moms.

She brought a lot of strength and grace to her role on the show. Is apparently a Julliard-trained actress.

Last fall, she did an interview with Essence magazine where she admitted to have written a book (that was then titled "Murder of a Sitcom Mom") but said that she wouldn't be publishing it because she had found healing over the firing and all that followed it.

shrug Almost sounds like something happened between October and whenever she decided to publish.
