Jess and Me (I) or whatever me (are) am!!!!!!! It was wonderful to meet your mature fertilized egg, and yes I called her that when we met and she laughed went and then laughed some more Mach, what a wonderful wonderful daughter you have! Met her and her friend Anna for lunch. I am 99% confident that I didn't cross any lines! They'll have to tell you if my toe touched it though I don't think so. Anyway, as expected, I did a lot of talking but I really did want to find out about what they were up to, what their goals were and I did several mini pep rallies. I encouraged them to continue with their education and that I am so proud of them for doing something like DECA, which I never would have dreamed of at their age. Mostly because of fear We did talk about how much we love you And I didn't lecture but as a point of advice encouraged them to stay connected to, talk to and visit with their grandparents We all believe, and expressed that life is about the experience and as an old man, comparatively, I encouraged them not to waste time and to live every day to the fullest! Oh yeah, I had BBQ Chicken salad and they had a White Pizza Thank you for the opportunity to be one degree of Mach So happy to meet your child and to talk about our differences and connect to the the things that we share. Just thank you..... . [Edited 5/6/09 10:05am] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Anna was a little bit shy at first but she came out of her shell! Jess, of course, was naturally jovial and radiant. Thank you for showing interest, supporting and encouraging them on education and life goals and staying in tune with their elders
OMG! I told them how at 39 I'm barely beginning my higher education and told them to just take hold of their accademic freedom and to pursue their dreams. And the grandparents thing. Didn't want it to be a lecture but I told them about coming out to my grandma and how much she appreciated and how much it opened our relationship. I told them that their grandparents might not say it but that they DO love when they see their grandkids and especially when they talk to them. I learned, the hard way, that living my crazy life robbed me of the connection I'll never have as an adult. My relationship with my grandmother that passed is continuing to this day but that is a discussion for another day. Didn't want to freak them out or nothin NO way you talked about me ?
YES WAY! I told Jess how you were one of my contenders for my school reference and explained the reason why I chose you. Which I don't know that I've done with you! 2 of my 3 references are pretty solid in the structure of their beliefs. The other is also structured but has pulled away from the church and has now jumped back in. For the most part, I share that structured belief experience. I decided to pull you in for about a million reasons but it boiled down to the fact that I felt my point of reference should also include that unstructured belief system that we share. When I say unstructured, it's more on the systems and ceremonies than the actual beliefs. Those little threads I create yelling out your name and then we get to discussing stuff, well I've felt very comfortable doing that with you and whether you knew it or not you are like a mentor to me. A peer who understands, who gets where I'm coming from and someone I always feel safe in bringing all the insane stuff to There are very few people I can have the kind of discussions we have together and that was the foundation for my selecting you. I did tell Jess that another reason I felt comfortable is because I knew you would be honest even if it was a no and that you wouldn't BS me and fake your way through something you didn't think was meant for you. I bet Jess had wonderful things to say - as she speaks them to me often enough.
Yes. Yes, I'm so happy that you have that with her. Yesterday we had a 3 hour blow out at the house. Involving, of course, my nephews. I feel sick that I am evolved and still unable to do the right thing. A door was opened yesterday and I'll talk about that in my coming out to grandma thread but I won't say I envy you but I definitely appreciate for you that you have what you have with Jess. And it inspires me to keep working towards getting my nephews to a safe and happy place in their lives. Thank YOU - for taking/making the time to reach out and share in my daughters life/world
Well Gosh, I wanted personal belly dancing lessons! I did mess around and do a swivel hip move and she said I had natural talent! When I get to Machville, we'll totally do a belly dancing routine! I know she will be full of wonderful things to say about her new Uncle Supa
I hope I didn't scare them in any way. Not like on the creepy side but like, this dude is crazy and weird side! Have her post to this thread if she feels like she wants to! [Edited 5/4/09 12:50pm] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

My daughter wants to meet her Uncle Supa! How wonderful that Jess got to experience the light, that you are. The need to impart knowledge oozes from your soul baby, I love, love, love that you were able to meet one of the 2nd generation. Mach She is even more beautiful than the last pictures. How fortunate you are to have such a grounded and wise-beyond-her-years daughter, of course some of that credit goes to you and TR. this made me feel really warm inside (Ewing edit) [Edited 5/4/09 14:19pm] We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Seriously, they probably think I'm a crazy person! *afterwards* why was he talking about grandparents? Yeah, I didn't want to preach or anything but I do believe in NOT wasting opportunities. I told them one day you will be 39 and look back on this conversation and think, that crazy guy was right! Her hair. OMG, the beautifulest strawberry blonde. It looks much lighter in pics for some reason but it's her natural color 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
