I've always wanted to go to one! They had a "Rocky Horror" convention in Atlantic City, NJ last year, but I couldn't go.
We went to a "Purple Rain" sing-along in NYC during the winter- they had added the words on the screen to all the songs, and we'd all yell out the lines and just acted up through most of the movie. Only ONE GUY in the whole theatre showed up in the purple coat and Edwardian shirt. When he walked into the lobby, he said, "Hey! I thought people were dressing up like at Rocky Horror!" I just looked at my friend and said, "He came thru the subway like that?" "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Tim Curry had the role of a lifetime. He was perfect for the part. Richard Obrien wrote a great score as well. How it became an audience participation movie, I'll never understand but it's fun to go see

They did a showing with people dressed up as the characters, and everything here about 11-12 years ago. I had seen the movie before, but the show at the theater with live characters, that was something else. There was a guy there that walked past me going into the theater, and I wasn't sure which character he was supposed to be,but he looked like Freddie Mercury, and the guy that played Rocky would go into the audience, and was kissing some of the girls. It was a crazy time! It sounds like you had a good time, and I highly recommend getting this....

I remember seeing the original stage production in late summer 1973. It was at the Kings Road Theatre in Chelsea and Tim Curry and Richard O'Brien were both in it.
I also remember being really freaked out as the ushers showing people to their seats were wearing wax masks. I didn't know at the time that these were cast members - they were so spooky. We must have arrived fairly early as I can remember watching them stalk up on people to make them jump or sit beside someone and just put their arm around them. The atmosphere was both exciting and scary at the same time. (I know it doesn't sound scary now - I was probably ) Is there anybody else who has slightly mysterious bruises?
