Problem....

Ok so I'm moving...sigh

...But I have this 'ere new neighbour in the flat next to mine who keeps hammering on the door at silly hours of the morning/night shouting for me to open the door cause I'm hammering on his??? and throwing things against the wall wacky

He clearly has mental health issues.. and IMO should be living in some supported accomodation.

Now bearing in mind I aam moving out shortly, should I report this matter or should I leave it to the next poor bugger who moves in! lol

I think I know what I'm going to do... I don't want to cause this clearly troubled guy more angst. However, bearing in mind he tried getting into my place tonight he could pose a threat to others.

Opinions please.

wacky edit sigh clapping

I think that might be a bit strong in the first instance...

...Maybe somehow getting some social support for him would be more appropriate...

...I can handle him... but others may not be so tolerant.

When exactly are you moving out??

If it's interfering with your sleep for instance, I would report it to the manager of your flat.

If you can put up with it till you move out, then that's up to you.

I'm not sure reporting it to the landlord will do any good -- they'll likely refer you to the police.

Is it possible to study elsewhere in your flat where it's more quieter??

Or another alternative would be studying in a library or a friends place or at school??

Keep in mind that they are taking money from him or from a caretaker, too. They might already know about him having some mental issues. You might want to tell them of your police report, if/once you file it.

U should say something to ur landlord...especially if you think hes a threat. At least he will then know that the new tenant's are legit if they make a complaint.

I may make enquiries with them tomorrow and see what their response is... not just verbal, but in their actual actions as well.

in the news tonight a new tenant in (someplace by blackpool) was sent to hospital with undetermined injuries after opening her door to her next door neighbor... police say the man was highly agitated and had hit her unconscious by the time they arrived...

be safe yourself too hug
he might be a perfectly wonderful neighbor if he's on his meds.
but landlords need to know what goes on at night, the new tenant should be alerted
and most of all tell the police. tell them you think he has mental health issues
might pose a risk to self or others and that you didn't know who else to call.
doveShe couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay dove
