are you talking about the ill-fated "generation x" tv movie, or one of the cartoon series?

The X-Men teen show was X-Men:Evolutions. I Think.
And I read somewhere that according to the producer or someone like that, the DVD release will not have a lot of deleted scenes. So my guess is it will prolly not answer many of our questions. Oh well. Back to the comic books.

You've seen this?
Why do I seem like the only X-Men geek who's never seen this?
And yes I know it's really, really bad. My roomate has told me this.

Gambit was the SHIT!!!! Hot Sexy, about to unintentionally break up the fight between the two mouthbreathers. Oww my heart went thump thump when he worked that cane! Yes he has the magic stick, that's like a cherry on top of a sundae right there. nod heart

Why oh why did they have to make Ryan Reynolds aka Wade ugly? He starts out fine then looks like he crawled out of a grave just before passing thru a vat of toilet water. oh well, the movie is the bomb and aside from Terminator Salvation there is nothing else worth seeing this year. hmph!

PREACH IT GIRL! He's a cane swingin', card slingin' package of sexycool...nice contrast to the mucho macho Xmen. nod

The other flick I'm looking forward to is Star Trek.

i thought this movie was EL CRAPAMUNDO GRANDE. barf

i thought it was maybe one of the most poorly written stories i've ever encountered. there were enough plot holes to open a golf course, every time the movie raised the stakes for wolverine something would happen to screw up those stakes, thus screwing up our emotional investment in what's happening to the guy; i can't even imagine why they took some the liberties they did to screw up the established comic book characters for this movie. did diamond skin chick REALLY need to be emma frost? did she REALLY need to be the girlfriend chick's sister?

oh, and OH MY GOD: what was that jacked-up looking professor x at the end? he looked like a goddamn creature from the mothership in close encounters. too much botox? too much CGI? hell, too much MSPaint? was that even patrick stewart? whoever it was, that was one creepy-ass face. disbelief

and how many holding-a-body-and-screaming-at-the-heavens scenes did this movie NEED, anyway??? i kept expecting george constanza to scream "KHHAAAAAN!!!", just because it seemed to be the thing to do in this movie. rolleyes

oh, i hated this film. jackman's diamond-hard butt cheeks couldn't even salvage this mess for me. liev schreiber's cute panda-like face came close to melting the ice in my heart, but too little, too late. disbelief

Well as a gay man, Gambit does nothing for me. Not my type at all.
I could how he would work for others though.

Fair enough. But surely you can see the difference in how Gambit's presented and how other male X-characters are. There's almost a cheesecake quality to him you usually only see with female comic book characters.

I wouldn't characterize him as cheesecake. And he wasn't the only pretty boy mutant in the movie (Wade?).

There's already a script for Magneto so he's probably next. The Gambit thing would be interesting with the feud between the thieves guild and the assasins guild though.

I've never seen it, and I'm probably the biggest X-Men geek this forum has ever seen. It came out at a time when I was very down on the X-Men and comics in general. We call this time the mid-90's lol

you know, I always thought that Claremont's original idea for Gambit, that he was an avatar for what would turn out to be a teenage Sinister sounded like a pretty stupid idea.

unfortunately, I think I'd have preferred it to the lame-ass we ended up with that was so crap that he had to go and ruin a great character like Rogue.

his crapness was so profound that it spilled over into crapping up another character, who was great.

Glad I'm not the only X-men geek not to see it. I wasn't down on X-men during the 90's, just really busy. So I kinda lost touch for awhile as well.
Truth be told Gambit was after my time as an X-men geek. Aging myself a bit there. cool

thx you guys for remembering the xmen teen flicks. i thought i was imagining it at first. you know...like i imagine Gambit licking me all over, tickling me with those Ace of Heart cards, then teasing me with that powerful sweet sticky cane. Wait..snap out of it Chica!!! faint doh!

um so anyway back to the movie. if xavier comes to stryker's little torture island to rescue the kiddies, why didn't he just tell wolverine about the island in parts one and especially part two when stryker comes back to wreak havoc on the school. i need to watch this a third time.
