I don't f*cknig belive this, but I just got pulled over and read for filth by a cop for throwing a cigarette butt out the window.

Is this honestly illegal? News to me! I've passed at least a billion of them in my life so far.

This absolutely blows me away that there are cops out there stoppping people for pointless crap like this when I'm getting run off the road by lunatic snotty rich bastards in their 50,000 dollar SUVs every day to and from work.

Same happened to a friend of mine Tomity-pie.She had to go down to the station with all her paperwork,registration etc and she got a formal caution.

it's illegal in Australia...they've been known to fly into the open window of another car...causing an accident...also, we have a lot of bushfire problems here...and this can cause them...i see what you mean about there being lots of more important stuff going on...but i can also see why it's illegal

First it's littering,second it could start a fire(many a blaze has been started from a ciggarette butt).I hate to sound hard ass,but i wish they would toughen up on more crimes like this and torch the murderers and rapist.

Get a clue! Some of us think littering sucks. It's rarely worse than when it comes flying at you from the car in front. Litter that stinks sucks even more. Finally, litter that can start a fire is should result in a HEFTY fine.

My apologies for launching. I just find it to be very obviously wrong, true of all littering. Very nice, thoughtful people make mistakes.

It is dangerous.

It's a $500 fine, and 1 year in jail in WA state. If you are convicted of starting a fire due to your cig butt, it's a $10,000 fine and 5 years in prision.
