homemade ideas for stuffy nose

I had a stuffy nose for days...tried nyquil, dayquil, robitussin, sudafed and something else I can't remember. Are there any other things I can try?

A neti pot.

Saline spray.

Not homemade but very effective.

You haven't tried any allergy-type meds if what you've listed is all you've tried.

I've been thinking about that. Saw it first on Opera or something weeks ago. It's not the same, but I tried pouring water up my nose. lol Worked for a few minutes.

I read about that, but something too spicy gives me an upset stomach.

or

horseradish or wasabi.

Though I find that using saline (sea salt) spray, steam, eucalyptus oil and natural allergy sprays help some times too.

I use these things too. You know how we have so many things over the counter at home that are so much stronger (because of the manmade chemicals inside)? I was totally knoocked off my rocker to find that a little 2 euro bottle of sea salt spray could help me breathe during a cold...who knew?

I have had to use the sea salt spray for years, well since I took an acne drug that caused major dryness to my sinuses & eyes. I love it, I use it every night before bed.

Right now I am using this for the congestion & sinus problems that are worse since being pregnant.

Now this is the one drugstore chemical that I still have in the cabinet (next to my sea salt spray) smile

When i had 'the stuffs' last month I used my sea salt nose spray during the day, but then at night (when I knew I would be completely dead) I would swab just a hint of Vicks right under my nose before i fell asleep. All my friends make fun of me because they say "that's the kind of stuff your mother uses on you when you're 9 years old"....I didn't care, I was BREATHING at night lol

this only for the brave, but squeeze a couple of garlic cloves and drink the juice. you'll say "GODDAMN IT!" & "HALLELUJAH!" consecutively!

side effect includes friends not talking to you for a couple of days...
