Are any of you Doctors on the Org.?? I've had a cold now for 2 weeks and its not going away. I've been to my Dr. but all he gives me is the usual antibiotic. I take all kinds of vitamins and I still get sick. This is the longest I've ever been sick though. Does anyone have any home remedies?

My mum gave me something for my 2 year old son recently which seems to be working for him and adults can take it too. It's a tonic called Minadex. Could try that...?

Its all about Nyquil and Dayquil..shit, sometimes I wish I get sick so I can take Nyquil mixed with some cough medicine...nummy.

I've been drinking gallons of coffee just to feel alive. But I'm just jittered out. I guess it's cuz I'm getting older.

Hmmm...well, at least you are alive. Just kidding. What vitamins/minerals/herbs are you taking? Taking stuff like echinacea and/or zinc is good, but only take them for 3-7 days because after about a week of taking those they will eventually suppress your immune system. The Z-pak your Dr. gave is great and works on just about anything. It's too bad you can't take it because it does sound like you might have a respiratory infection. Do you have a fever? I would say if you have a high fever or it goes up, go to the doctor and get a shot (hehe) since you can't take the Z-pak, or ask for another antibiotic. If you think you just have a cold, try to let it pass since it's a virus, but there is that medication called Zicam or something like that for colds. I really don't like the idea of treating colds or any virus with antibiotics (I don't like most medications, period). Using herbal remedies for colds is much better. Also try some echinacea with goldenseal (for about a week if you haven't already) along with some vitamin C and maybe some garlic (it helps with heart health as well as boosting the immune system). Zinc will only work within the first 24 hours of a cold. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
