he might be a perfectly wonderful neighbor if he's on his meds. but landlords need to know what goes on at night, the new tenant should be alerted and most of all tell the police. tell them you think he has mental health issues might pose a risk to self or others and that you didn't know who else to call. Crikey.. That's where I'm going

Rang the Landlord/Agency today... They are aware of the situation and are in touch with his social worker. See how it goes from there

I think I know what I'm going to do... I don't want to cause this clearly troubled guy more angst. However, bearing in mind he tried getting into my place tonight he could pose a threat to others. Opinions please.

i would report the situation to your landlord, and get it on the record, definitely. your lease likely has a clause about not disturbing another tenant's 'peace and quiet enjoyment' of their space. and, although it is unpleasant in the extreme, i would probably call the police the next time this neighbor intrudes into your space, makes noise, and behaves oddly hang in there dearie! | |

I just bumped into him following a call to the Landlord/agency Big props to him.. he had the guts to talk to me all civilised.. he's clearly troubled and once able to hold a conversation with him I think he realises I'm not a threat or causing him grief. I believe he does hear his door being banged, but it exists only to him. We had a good chat.. nice lad underneath the exterior
