Unplug your iPod's cord from your computers USB. After doing so you'll see in a few seconds "it's safe to disconnect" then disconnect the other end of the cord from your iPod. I had this happen to me once before and everything on the iPod was just fine.

If your iPod is disconnected from your computer and it's stuck. Press Menu and on/off button at the same time for a few seconds.

Sorry, sad on/off button not start/play button. WTF.

Mine does that all the time. I hit the Eject button in ITunes & have to pull the plug on the IPod @ just the right time, it gives me like 2 or 3 seconds before it goes back to the "do not disconnect" screen. hammer

Just let the battery die and recharge it. Mine used to do that as well. My ipod is history now. Mine won't charge at all bawl I feel like a part of me is slowly dying sad

On another note, Apple's customer service is gonna kill them. I'm not gonna pay $130 plus shipping and handling to fix my 3 year old ipod classic when I can buy a brand new one shrug

Didja fix it yet?

If not, you'll have to do a hard reboot.

First, eject the iPod from iTunes. Then, disconnect the USB cable from the iPod. Next, hold down the button in the center of the click wheel and Menu at the same time. Keep holding it until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo comes up.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

LAME hmph! That's the same thing Apple tells you to do. IT WON'T WORK IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR IPOD!!! If the problem is the ipod, you have to send it to apple to be repaired.

I'm pretty sure she has tried that a million times already rolleyes

Actually, there may be nothing wrong with her iPod. Sometimes they do just get stuck. Mine and my husband's has done it and what Rogue588 said is EXACTLY how to get it unstuck.
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Possibly. I was really talking about my ipod and my issues lol That didn't work for me; mine won't charge. Something is actually wrong with the ipod.
