Ya'll are REALLY tripping me out.

When you drive, you wear a seatbelt to prevent dying in a car accident.

When you fuck, you wear a condom to prevent getting pregnant or an STD.

So, how does someone fail to apply the same concepts of common sense, safety, precaution, and self-preservation when it comes to going to the hotel room of a strange man with a violent history. (But like I said in THIS case I think she had consensual sex.) confuse

Mutha hasn't said anywhere that any woman is at fault for being raped, however, if you place yourself in an unsafe situation why the surprise and outrage when some unsafe shit happens to you. Sure, anything can happen anywhere but when you knowingly put yourself in a risky situation you do hold some responsibility for being there in the first place when you KNEW there were risks.

I guess all you guys blame the white tiger for chomping down Roy's ass when he was just being a tiger. lol

OF GODDAMN COURS SCANDALOUS. JUST PLEASE

Mike tyson aint a wild Tiger, he's a man. And nobody isn't saying to NOT use common sense or what the hell ever but I suppose you didn't get to read his ridiculous answer that he would start yelling at a relative or friend and ridiculing her when she came to him that she was raped.

I mean for godsakes with this crap, for real.

eek WOW! So you think preventing rape IS ONLY A MAN'S JOB? WOW! Jesus H. Christ! I don' read it all now. WOW.

The only way it can be linked to a woman is in the way she raises her son. That is it.

Anyone that thinks a woman needs to prevent rape in any other way is absolutely 100% wrong, wrong, wrong and their attitude is actually contributing towards this kind of violence towards women.

And maybe that's the problem right there - You feel the responsibility for rape prevention falls SOLELY AND ONLY ON THE MAN.

Sadly, there are people HERE who probably believe that. Wow.

No, my argument is - She shouldn't have gone over there in the first place. That was her biggest and most crucial mistake. Had she not done that dumb act, she wouldn't have been raped. She wouldn't have given up her POWER to begin with. The moment she went over there, she relenquished her power and gave it ALL to Mike. Not a smart thing to do, because now you're entrusting a headcase, vilent boxer to "keep you safe". How'd that work out for her?

I stand corrected... lol

but yes in theory a woman should always be able to say stop and the man should stop, but that only works in theory... this is why date rapes happen in the first place.

It is better to not put yourself in harm's way.

Yeah, this whole "No means no" is valiant and all, but it's almost like the whole "Just say no" campaign...was that REALLY an effective way to fight the war on drugs? Nope. How many men are REALLY gonna say "Oh, my bad. You said 'no'" and then just stop? Exactly. So, how about not even getting to the point to where you'd HAVE to employ those words? And in THIS case, she didn't use common sense and automatically opted for the latter.

Oh god. lol This is the blanket response now? This "placing oneself in harms way" business is being applied to all women and all situations that usually do not end up in rape.

Many blanket responses being made here.... but I speak of going to a man's room, that has been flirting with you all day, is horny, and calls your ass in the middle on the night to fuck you and told you so earlier, and still go... you and I both know she wasn't raped.... if she was, she put herself in harms way. Not her fault for being there, but at what point do you trust a drunk man with a throbbing dick when you enter a room-> especially AFTER he sucks your pussy?

I would tell her like this:

"What in the fuck are you doing going to crazy-ass Mike Tyson's room at 3-muthafuckin-AM in the muthafuckin' morning to begin with?"

Why? Because THAT was the part SHE was in control of. The moment she threw out COMMON SENSE AND LOGIC and opted for STUPIDITY is the moment she gave up all her power and put her LIFE in the hands of a man she doesn't even know but knows has a checkered past.

Which is pretty much what I've been saying all along. Does it absolve Mike of his actions IF he really raped her? No. BUT going to the room of a man who's profession is violent, is KNOWN for being violent towards women, is definitely not a common, everyday situation and is actually a VERY risky one. So she chose to ignore all of those flashing lights and placed herself in an unpredictable environment with an unstable individual. That to me is being irresponsible. Matter of fact, she's actually more at fault in THIS situation because she KNEW about his past and history and went anyway.

Well I think she was a willing participant and cried foul for evil reasons. So we both believe, she wasn't a victim. It's gone so beyond the Tyson case and yeah, it's fucked up that his first response is to blame his sister instead of consoling her and saving the fucking lecture for a more appropriate time.

No. Now, can YOU provide evidence she DIDN'T? Now, here we have a famous boxer, that's been in trouble with the law many times, and has been declared a mani depressive. This was COMMON (There goes that word again - common lol) KNOWLEDGE to the public, especially after his high profile marriage to Robin Givens. If you have info that can discount any of that, it's your floor.

Okay, so hypothetically speaking, let me pose this scenario to you:

A woman who is fully aware of Mike's past, was warned by others to stay away from him, and he told her when they met he was gonna fuck her. He calls her waking her up out of her sleep at 1:30 am and asks her to come over, she says no. He begs, she asks her roommate to go with her. Her roommate says, Hell Naw! And although she had no sexual interest in him, she decided to meet him in the lobby in her PJs and proceeds to go with him to his hotel room at 3 am. As a result, he rapes her. Do you think she bears ANY responsibility for placing herself in this precarious situation with a nut she knew was a nut in the first place?

OK. I didn't know that. I still don't believe her.

We don't have to go there because I don't believe her either when she said she didn't think sex was involved, thus I don't believe that she was raped but a willing participant. I believe she saw dollar signs and that is what drove her.

I would question a woman's judgement but I still wouldn't in her face or anywhere say she deserved to be raped because she has fucked up judgement.

Quick question: Who here believes that Desiree would've still been raped had she NOT gone to Mike's room?

There will be people that will avoid this question like the plague, watch clapping.

Told ya nobody would touch this. wink
