Official NFL offseason thread

Anyone interested in the nfl draft this saturday?
Are the lions a sure bet to take matthew stafford
with the first pick?
Should the rams surprise everyone and take Mark
Sanchez number 2 instead of the top OT on the board?
Will the brownies trade Braylon Edwards before the
draft to the giants?

Open this thread back up please.

That's what I'm hoping for. We need a gamebreaker at WR. Giants had ZERO receiving TDs the last five weeks of the season. Without Plaxico to stretch the defense, we were sunk, and the Eagles took advantage. Cardinals want too much for Boldin, so Edwards is the next best choice. He better work on holding on to the ball.

Giants also need help at LB and the secondary.

It could be good for the giants however i wouldn't offer anything
more than this year number one. If the brownies want more i'd
say fuck em.

Da Bears.
They only need: 2 receivers, an entire defense, and a whole new set of coaches.

I'm surprised the Bears didn't take a look at Torry Holt, who signed with the Jags.

2 Cheap. They have spent their wad on the QB.

Cutler better come through. If da Bears struggle early, the seat will get real hot for Lovie.

In that case.....I hope they struggle. He is the ONLY coach in the NFL that doesn't work on Sundays.

Unless he runs a 4.3, forget it. Al loves those super fast wideouts. Grandpa Al believes in playing football like it's 1979. biggrin

I'm right witcha man. Didn't realize you were a steelers fan?
We needs help on OL, DL, and CB but we got to shore up
that offensive line early through the draft so we can improve our
short yardage offense particularly inside the 10.
We stunk last season in that area. Can't wait to get mendenhall
that rock next season.

I will be watching some of the draft this weekend, probably watch to see who my Vikings take. Right now,the Vikings need to draft a strong right offensive tackle. The next big question mark, at least for me is, will we stick with Tavaris Jackson as our QB. If we don't want him to be our #1 QB, then we gotta draft a QB..in later rounds. We gotta get a WR, plus a few DTs, and that will be it for us.

Go, Vikings

The NFL is the best sports league - most of the time, they do it right, but 4pm???? Why not start the draft at 12 like they usually do?

Hot rumor I heard on WFAN - the 'Skins want to move up ahead of Seattle so they can grab Sanchez. Both teams covet the former USC QB.

All I want is for my Saints to pick DEFENSE!! Don't fall for the okey-doke and draft an Ohio State running back....go for the Ohio State corner instead! Malcolm Jenkins is the no-brainer pick at 14 for N.O., unless Mr. Maualuga is available....bottom line, the boys lost 5 games last year on the last drive when all that had to happen was the D making a stop...

I will be glued to my tube on Saturday...

4pm? Wow. I might not be watching then. Heck, the draft is already 2-days long to begin with. Starting at 4pm is really a tough one. Did they shorten the time teams have to pick their players?

Do the vikes still have Mount McKinnie at LT? Seemed like he got into
some trouble last season. Tavaris Jackson is still a bit of a question
mark. I do think sage rogenfels is an upgrade over gus ferrotte.

According to the experts, this draft isn't strong on blue-chip defensive players. It's geared more towards WRs and offensive tackles.

Teams with REAL scouting don't believe that.

A number 1 pick on a QB seems very risky 4 a team like the Lions.
