What do you do with Rum?

Ok people, I need some help here. I just got a huge ass bottle of really good rum for my birthday and I need some ideas on what to mix it with. (I've already got the rum and coke thing down wink) Any ideas?

So far I've found that Rum and strawberry-kiwi Crystal Light is fantastic!

Easy Rum Tiramisú

1/3 c. Sugar 2 Tbsp. water
2 Egg whites 3 Tbsp. dark rum
6 oz. light cream cheese, room temperature ½ c. Strong coffee
9 Lady fingers, split in halves
1 oz. Semisweet chocolate, finely chopped or grated

Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Boil uncovered 1 minute and remove from heat. Beat egg whites to soft peaks with an electric mixer. With machine running on medium speed, slowly pour hot sugar syrup into egg whites and continue beating until whites are stiff and glossy. Continue beating about 2 minutes, until mixture is cool. Beat in cream cheese 2 Tbsp. at a time at high speed until smooth. Combine coffee and rum in a bowl. Dip cut sides of half the ladyfingers into coffee mixture. Arrange rounded side up in a single layer in the bottom of a serving bowl. Spread with half the cheese mixture and sprinkle with half the chocolate.

Dip remaining ladyfingers in coffee mixture and arrange rounded side up over cheese layer. Drizzle any remaining coffee mixture over ladyfingers and spread with remaining cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 12 hours.

That or drink

Purple Reign

- 1 shot rum (preferablly white)
- 2 shots Blue Curacao
- fill rest of glass with cranberry juice
- crushed ice
- dash of lemon juice.

You can fiddle around with the rum-to-Blue_Curacao ratio until you get it to your liking.

fill a high ball glass with crushed ice.
pour in some rum,
the juice of 2-4 limefruits + the limefruits themselves (chopped).
add some syrup of sugar and stir it

voila!!
it's a caipirinha. i love this drink.

if you want a "fidel castro" you can use ginger ale instead of the sugar and use less lime. it's not as fantastic but still very good.
I woke up sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
and the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert

Just pour some diet coke over it with ice.

Why drinks have to have 50 flavors with an electric propellor sticking out of the glass I'll never understand.

You could make a trifle with it. Soak the cake bit at the bottom in it.

Or you could use it to clean your windows.

There is also a recipie for grashopper pie, which is basically a chocolate crust with a mint green filling, but rum is in the recipie.

Pina` Coladas use Rum
as do Daquiris.

Look at the TGI Fridays site, I believe they have a drink recipie for a Rum Runner, which is good too.

If it's truly a good rum, you should make a Mojito! It's my favorite rum drink.

1 shot of rum
half a teaspoon sugar
juice of half a lime
sprigs of mint- crush the stalks to release essential oils

Add all the ingredients to a highball glass, fill with ice, top off with soda water and garnish w/additional mint leaves and/or even a sliver of a stock of sugar cane (my favorite, cause it doubles as a stir stick, and you can chew on the yummy rum-soaked sweetness)

edit, schmedit...
