I'm going to miss my mum...

My mum is flying out to Australia this evening and she'll be away for 5 weeks. She has been loads of times before and i've never really been bothered, but this time i'm dreading her going sad

I know I can e-mail her to stay in touch, but for 5 weeks I won't be able to drop over to her place for a cuppa and a chat and i'm going to really miss that this time.

I'm going over this morning with my children to see her before she goes, but I know i'm going to get upset when it's time to leave. It's really weird, cos we're not even that close - I usually only see her once every 10 days or so anyway!

Perhaps it's just hormones!

I know how it feels to miss your mum. Mine is 5000 miles away. Longest I have gone without seeing her is 14 months.

Hormones...ahhhh, I know all about those too.
Big hugs to you and your mum.

Awwww I know what you mean. hug My parents used to go to Florida for one or two months during the winter. I HATED it when they would leave. Sure I could call them on the phone to see how they were. But there was something strangely comforting in knowing that they were close by if I needed them or vice versa. Being away from your mom and not being able to see her for awhile like that is hard, I know, but you will get through it.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Sometimes I miss my mom when she's away for the weekend. I work with my mom and she's going to start working from home in a couple of weeks. I'm going to miss not being able to see her every day. And I'll miss her dropping off the tabloid magazines she's done reading at my desk.

I can't imagine 5 weeks! omfg

I used to live two miles from my mom and worked with her on the weekends. It is strange being 5000 miles away and five hrs time difference.
I did not think I would miss her this much but at certain times I really do.
sigh

Though it made the few days I spent with her for the first time in 14 months more special. I savoured every moment with her.
Not sure when I will see her again, it has already been 5 months.
Crazy how we miss ppl that we are used to being around.

I love having a read of my mum's magazines when I visit her - she buys all the gossip/celebrity ones! I'll just sit there reading them with a cup of tea (that she makes sooo much better than I do), whilst she plays with my children. Pure bliss! It's just all the little things I appreciate my mum for.

I no longer remember why I miss my mum, but this kind of thread is a stark reminder.

What I find hystericaly funny is that once upon a time Ugg boots were totaly what we call "bogan" (white trash for USA), or u slopped around the house in them to keep ure feet warm but if u didn't want to be called Bogan u DID NOT wear them out in public... then all of a sudden Pam ANderson discovered them and all the USA went crazy over ugg boots and were turning them into regular "In" fashion footwear and wearing them around with mini skirts and the like falloff Freakin hysterical.....
that was of course until people here started doing it too rolleyes neutral I still refuse to wear them lol

I love my Uggs. They're so comfortable! But I have rules for wearing them... I only usually wear them at home and occasionally for the school run, I never-ever wear them with a skirt - only with jeans. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere too public in them.

I haven't seen my mom in 1 1/2 years, so I understand about missing your mom.

5 weeks will pass quickly. Send pictures to one another via email if you can. That helps a lot to bridge the feeling of distance.
