Are men really offended by intelligent women?

This is just a thought 2 provoke 2 the mind. The question isn't really new, but it's always interesting.I'm not trying to bash all men, but some men tend 2 not like the fact that a woman may be smarter then he is, or stronger then he is, or even be the bread winner in the family. Will there ever be equal opportunity between the two sexes or will this always be a man's world ?

What do u think ?

I'm always looking for someone smarter then I am. Haven't found anyone yet big grin , but I am still looking.

Seriously though, I find a women's intelligence to be a major turn on. I would not / am not bothered one bit by the thought of a women who is smarter, stronger, or a better breadwinner then I am. I would be bothered if she could beat me at hoops, but I find that very unlikely big grin

I've known guys who felt this way, and I never understood it. But now, I just choose not to date them. For me, problem solved. I've learned you can rarely change someone's opinion on such a matter. I once dated a friend who always dated the stupidist girls. I mean, seriously, I felt sorry for these girls, they were that uneducated. Then it got me to wondering how we ended up dating at all... wink And it was over.
Of course, I've also known men who are just the opposite. Constantly dating women older, wiser, etc.

They show that because they try to hook the typical dumb neanderthal thinking male who they can manipulate through commercialism to take his money. They go for the least common denominator thinkers and it works...they buy things they see on billboards and other ads becasue they think thats the image that they will be able to partake in etc...and in another scenario some men like dumb women because they can take advantage of them emotionally and pysically..they're big pussies and couldn't handle a real woman... point fucking blank

You know what cracks me up, though? So many guys say they like women with brains, yet then they end up with a total airhead! Cause she's "sweet" and nice to look at... rolleyes Suddenly their definitions of "smart" start to change, and "smart" starts to equal: can breathe on her own... wink

I think it comes down to men liking the "visuals"from a woman more than the intellect. The majority women who lack these "visuals" tend to work harder on their intelligence.
The pretty girls(societies example not mine) don't feel the need to push knowledge to open the door to the american dream.

I've had the opposite happen! I attended college studying computer technology, and frankly the females were the ones who were offended by my knowledge...offending though were the males who "tested" my knowledge by asking me tough questions...just to break me...punks. lol

a turely intelligent woman can, for the
sake of love, make her self quite 'DINGGY'
over analizing a situation, pontifacating
on every lil thing that's done in the world
and not knowing how to handle a simple relationship,
oh... i was thinking GENIUS.
NEVERMIND!!!
an intelligent woman is just that, an intelligent woman.
that doesn't mean they are BEYOND APPROACH or UNDERSTANDING
and they are ( most of them) very beautiful, sexy, fine,
whutever...

I dont think men are offended by intelligent women. It is more likely that they feel intimidated and scared.

Mine is a whole lot smarter than me. Can't say I'm offended - it's part of the attraction.

I think it's the fact that most men have to feel like they are in charge. Like they are King of their little castle. It's a thing that is thrust onto men by society, although not us much as in times past.

Mind you, I dont feel that way at all. I love intelligent women and like The Max I can say that my wife is a whole lot more intelligent than me. I'm very comfortable with that.

What do u think ?

I think men have come a long way towards accepting intelligent women. theres ALWAYS been men who liked women to b the bread winners so THEY could stay home & lay around... dont know much about those guys & dont plan to, but guys worth MY time WANT a woman to b intelligent, whether or not they want or need her to work outside the home. however, i feel the MAN should be AS smart as me, or SMARTER than me. i doubt that i could respect a man that had less upstairs than i did. i need to feel i can look up to him, to be protected by him, to respect his decisions as having the final say in matters. thats not to say he HAS to be higher educated than me, but i'd like him 2 be equally intelligent or more intelligent than i in most matters, i.e. common sense issues & every day sort of things, as well as important issues. i guess i'm saying 4 me, a man should wear the pants in the family.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

That's really cool. smile So would you say that men who are intimidated and scared have been brainwashed. How does a man get over these emotions? Or better still, how can a woman assist a man in overcoming these emotions of fear?
