your pain threshold

do you moan about every nick, scratch, scrape, sneeze, sniffle and stubbed toe in life, or do you generally grin and bear it?

what's the worst pain you've ever felt?

be honest.

I'm decent with actual pain, but I'm awful with the anticipation or sudden shock of it. shake

The worst pain I've ever felt? hmmm Probably getting a nerve cauterized with a red-hot dental explorer during a root canal when I was 12 or 13.

Another time would be when I was working on my house and hit my thumb square on at significant force with a hammer. I literally collapsed at the knees and peed myself slightly. redface I broke out in a sweat and had to get fresh air and sit down for awhile. Amazingly, I hadn't shattered any bones or anything.

Hey, I'm not saying that matches childbirth. lol But men and women perhaps operate on two different standards. I wasn't designed to handle pregnancy-level pain. shake

Ohhhh... well if we're counting that sort of thing, I'd list the better part of 2000-2002. disbelief

I tend to grin and bear it... tho most pain i've had that I can think of has been self inflicted - child birth (which was actually fine), tattoo and years ago when I had my belly button pierced... I couldn't whine over any of that. Luckily i've never broken a bone or even been stung by a bee or wasp - I'd probably be a wuss with something like that.

I don't make much fuss with colds and illness, looking after 2 kids you just have to get on with it.. and my husband doesn't look after me either mad

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I would say mine is pretty high. I once put a garden fork through my foot and didn't even notice.

Throat and stomach pain after having throat surgery was brutal.
Labor contractions felt, like someone was tearing my insides apart.
Never really complained much, just took the pain...what else could I do? Complaining wasnt going to make it go away...

I think I have a high tolerance for pain

Pain threshold is high.

Childbirth was a walk in the park compared to a toothache I once had. Brutal.

The worst pain is when I had recurring apendicitis and would be awake for 72 hours because there was no way to sleep through the pain. I would eventually pass out from sheer exhaustion.

Very high.

I suffered through 10+ years with severe endometriosis which caused me constant pain on a daily basis, and even worse pain during my cycle. Then I had two surgeries including a hysterectomy, and the only pain meds I took for those was what they gave me the first day or so thru my IV, after that I refused to take anything...the pain from the surgery wasn't as bad as the pain I'd been in for years anyway, so...

I don't like taking any medications AT ALL if I can avoid it (and I usually do)
