It's pretty bad when you can't go to the store without getting hit up for something!

It seems that everytime I go to the store lately there is either someone wanting me to sign a petition for something or donate money, but today I got hit by both at the same time. One a petition that I have already signed, but since there is always a different person standing there,I find myself having to constantely reply "I already signed it". The ones that are wanting me to donate money,I really don't know what it is that I am supposed to be donating to,the men that they have stand out there,do not speak english, but they are always dressed like they should be in a marching band. I am all for charity, but I want to know what exactly my money is going to before I give it. It's pretty bad when I can't go to the store, get my shit, and leave without someone wanting something from me. mad

I thought it was just in my town! eek
If it's not the Girl Scouts with cookies, it's the Boys with popcorn. Then there is EVERY sports team from EVERY school in the area, or some Mission. And THEN there are those weird ones that say they're collecting for Drug Programs, but they look like they're panhandling using kids. confused
One time outside of Wal-Mart, a church was selling homemade pies! doh!

Sometimes I feel guilty, but when I go to the store, I already know what I want...

My all time favorate is the group from 20 miles who come into the central city to sell their peanut brittle so it can help the youth in my community. Too bad cuz that was the best I've ever had, but we on our block have a no panhandling no matter who you are and if you don't have a permit from the City Clerk; we call the police. Too many seniors were getting ripped off.

man, there are some days where just walking from the bus to my job feels like i'm being picked clean by people with their clipboards and their soliciting and their panhandling and whatever else. i wish i could just carry a big sign on wheels behind me that says DON'T ASK ME FOR SH*T.

One time I was coming out of Pathmark and I heard the guy say to the kids, "Let me show U how to do it"... He started flirting with me. hmm
I turned around, and coyly said, "Nice try". wink That asshole waited until I got a little way across the parking lot and yelled "U weren't all that anyway!" omg
I swung around and unleashed on him with the wrath of all that was unholy! The kids were flabbergasted and people were starting to gather... (He picked a particularly PMS/man-hating day to get cute redface)
The kids learned how NOT to solicit that day! giggle

woot! lol I just think,if I am going to give to a charity,I should be able to decide which one,and donate, not get hit with it while doing my shopping. I almost dread having to go to the store lately, cause I know they will be there waiting. sigh

Would you be interested in a big cardboard sign that says "Don't ask me for Sh!t". It's about 40x30 cm and is easily hung on your back or front. It's has pretty colours as not to offend anyone.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Bothers me too. You shouldn't be hassled that way. You're way too pretty for that. Anyway, how about having a drink sometime? I know this great place nearby...

one day i was walking down the street with one of my best friends, and some guy asked her if she wanted to buy a "mean people suck" sticker for a dollar. so she gave him a dollar, ripped the sticker in half, gave him the half that said "people suck" and slapped the "mean" half on her shirt. falloff
