My housemate was telling me that he needs to have a lot of sex because he has a high sex drive. I said to him that there s no such thing as a high sex drive it s just that he doesn t know what else to do with himself and hasn t got any other outlet for his anxieties/frustrations/energy. I was pretty impressed with this insight and I m also jealous of the f@cker 'cos he s getting more than me.

Anyone else got an insight on whether the claims of a high sex drive are a myth or not.

Why would it be a myth? Clearly some people need/want more sex than others. A compulsion is a different matter though - "a lot" to one person may be an average amount to someone else. If his sex drive isn't ruining his life in some way (bad/dangerous decisions, emptying his account on whores, skipping work often, etc.), what's the problem?

Convesrely, a man with a low sex drive may be showing signs of a serious health condition. Erectile dysfunction is usually a good indicator of heart disease. and while a guy can take Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis to get his erection up, he would be better served by going on a heart-healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise, since regular exercise will naturally raise adrenaline and testosterone levels in the body.
