looks like i'm allergic to tea tree oil too!

Crap. mad

I have a new piercing that I'm trying to maintain while it heals. From past experience I know not to use commercially available piercing cleaners because I get a wicked rash from them. Sea salt doesn't appear to do much for me, so I thought I'd use tea tree oil.

Fail.

The piercing, though obviously not infected, is red and irritated as all hell.

Warm water and soap it is, I guess. sigh

That stuff works fine for cleaning piercings you've had for a while but it's not usually recommended for fresh ones.

When I first got both my ears pierced I used a the product offered to me for cleaning ear holes if an infection happens. Well an infection happened in my right ear lobe got infected. I used the stuff and my ear turned a bright red and it felt hot. Scared me. After the 2nd time it happened I threw it out. I got an allergic reaction from it. So I just used rubbing alcohol to kill the infection which worked.

I gave up on piercings a long time ago. I had my nips done twice and they would never heal right. I got tired of them being irritated all the time. No matter what I treated them with.

Hope you find something that works.
