Congratulations!
I listened to Prince everyday while I was pregnant with my daughter (I was driving a lot in my job and listened in the car).... and she always asks for Prince music now - maybe that's why... When I was pregnant with my son I wasn't stuck with music so much. He always found the noise of the vacuum or hairdryer soothing - so i'd just switch one on if he ever had a crying fit

....and make sure you choose a song without swear words, just incase the baby gets kinda attached to it

Its making its little ear bones now and will be able to hear next week, any suggestions of songs?? Hey! I tried this! I wasn't so high tech as to play it to him, but I sang that nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle, and when he was born, it was so cute, he would cry and as soon as I started with the song, his eyes opened and he was trying to figure out where the song was coming from, listening intently!

I always wonder what the baby is thinking as I am doing my very brisk walks on the treadmill with the music up really loud with upbeat tunes. I look down and my belly is moving all about. I do make sure to play slow soothing music as I do my yoga and warm up stretches.

Are you findin out what you are havin? i'm not Yes we are going to find out what we are having. My family is in the states so it is hard for them to share in the experience, at least they will know what we are having. I am tired of calling the baby "IT". We already have names picked out so hopefully May 20th we will know the sex and can call it by it's name.

yes its my first, is it yours??
At 15 weeks, the bones in your baby's ear that are responsible for hearing are developing, and her taste buds are sprouting, too. From now on, she'll get a flavour of whatever you eat via the amniotic fluid. One study showed that unborn babies swallow more amniotic fluid if it tastes sweet, and less if it's bitter – pass the biscuits! This week sees a period of rapid growth, with your baby starting to lay down fat under her skin. Her sex organs are maturing, and a highly skilled sonographer might be able to tell the sex at this point. She's also gaining more control of her movements; scans at this stage have shown babies playing with the umbilical cord, snuggling up to the wall of the uterus, apparently for comfort, and even fighting with their twin. Your baby will probably get regular bouts of hiccups from now on, which help her lungs prepare for breathing. http://ukfamily.co.uk/age...ek-15.html

I don't know how you feel about Jewel but she has a new disc coming out (maybe it's already out) with lullabies on it. She has the most exquisite song on there. I wish I had more info to give you but it's totally amazing. I'll look it up later and give you the link. It's absolutely beautiful and calm and mellow.
Here it is. [Edited 4/9/09 5:51am]

Went to a maceo gig when mine was in utero and he loves hornz. I also speak to my wifes belly loads so she recognises my voice when she gets out. play anything, the kid will love music. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

Music is awesome for a baby!! Christina played all kinds of music for Seyhan when she was pregnant...and now plays Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics for her while she sleeps at night.
I use to care for a preemie..and his parents did the same..the Dr's actually said it was good for the baby. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

Incredible how well babies can hear in the womb. My daughter Michelle, now 11, would be sound asleep in side of me, and at the sound of my husbands voice, she would get all It was a real joy to my husband, that the sound of his voice would get her all wound up. She is now eleven, and her daddy's little princess.
