About once a year I used to get this NEED for KFC, only to regret it immediately after. I'd just feel gross the second I took that last bite.
Their seasoning seems like a good idea at first, but it's just TOO MUCH. ill

Their chicken also seems greasier.

Ugh, this makes me sick. Millions of more deformed chickens chucked in the torture chambers. Seriously you guys wouldn’t eat this crap if you saw the hell these chickens live in before their death. Especially when it’s getting this cheap, it must be even worse.

We recycle. We adopt homeless animals and donate to shelters. We donate to the poor. We donate to AIDS research. We donate to the March of dimes. We donate to Cancer research....and more.

It's hard to keep all bases covered at all times.

I don't feel like I'm a terrible person if I want to get my Popeye's on once in a while.

It's not ignorance to choose not to be as perfect a person as you seem to be.

Just can't be "good" ALL of the time.

I know I'm not perfect. Its just once you see this kind of thing it's extremely hard to forget. You just feel you have to try and open up some other people eyes. I know I'm probably ignorant on alot of things that are really grotesque and I wouldn't mind people trying to open my eyes a bit more.

In spite of my sarcasm, I do get that (the trying to open eyes thing), but unfortunately I don't think it's always done effectively(like in this instance) or that THIS is the thread for it. This thread was started with the economy and people's pockets in mind. It's hard to find a meal that's healthy and cruelty-free for under 2 bucks and sometimes some soybeans and a pita won't cut it.

A better way to make your point might have been to offer some alternatives at a comparable price. wink

I don't typically mind threadjacking but coming up in here calling meat eaters ignorant is not in the spirit of the thread and is annoying. You are free to start your own thread discussing this topic to your heart's content so why not just do that instead of being a pain in the ass and annoying.

It's nothing against meat eaters. Its the chicken corporations and I guess the laws surrounding it. I have nothing against eating meat. I do so myself from the small businesses that own the regulated farms. Its those big cheap corporations that I think are disturbing. Not the people who don't know any better. But yes I've said what I felt needed to be said so I won't respond anymore unless I do come up with some cheap alternatives like johnart suggested.

I don't want to encourage this going on I just feel I want to make one quick point.

There's a BIG difference between folk "not knowing any better" and not being able to AFFORD any better. It sucks, but it's the times we live in.

If you want to discuss it further, just start another thread rather than doing it on this one. I'm sure there's plenty of folk would take part in the discussion. And affordable alternatives would make a wonderful thread.
