would you help somebody who you despised/didn't like if nobody else could? pass them by in a rainstorm if they were on the corner?

If I was the only one there, that would tell me I'm the person there to help. It's not for me to decide whether they deserve the help.

I'm not at a place where it'd be altogether easy to do it, but I'd like to think yes.

Now... if they're simply in a bind, but would eventually come out relatively unscathed, I'd let 'em stew at least for awhile. But dire trouble? Yes, I'd be more inclined to lend a hand.

Yeah, if they're not smart enough to come in out of the rain, that's not on me. If they were drowning, I'd help if I could. (Unless I despised them for a really good reason.)

And I don't believe in karma in the traditional sense. I just know I'd feel worse not helping.

I'd consider helping that asshole, but he would probably try to pull me in just out of spite... & if I did save him from drowning, I'd have to punch him immediately after before he got a chance to do/say anything else to annoy me...
