Racism needs to be dealt with if we are to live in peace among each other. This world will never find peace until all men are treated equally, based on their character not the color of their skin. My avatar gives an idea as to my thoughts regarding the human race. People of every color of the spectrum including white people are suffering because of racism. This is heartbreaking to me, as I feel we could learn so much from each other if we would put our surface differences, hate and jealousies behind us. I learned this the hard way and with some reluctance, but thank God, I can truly say I have learned how to counter attack the hateful thoughts that sometimes want to creep into my brain and heart. It takes constant effort on my part, as I'm faced with racism quite often. In my twenties, I was very hateful of white people. Not just because they were white but because of the things that have happened to me and to people I know at the hands of white people. It's an ugly world out here people for Black folks, but I cannot dwell on the ugliness, I'd rather address the solutions, and for me that means exposure. How else can this issue be dealt with? If we continue to hide from the problem of racism, it will continue to florish, and in the long run no one benefits.
