I guess I've used similar, but under a brand name. Morningstar Farms veggie crumbles are basically TVP I think, maybe slightly different.
I've used them in place of ground beef in any recipe. Sloppy Joes, tacos, hot dishes (you probably call them casseroles).

I was given some " Bob's Red Mill TVP "


I looked it up and yeah, it's just TVP with a few added spices and vitamins.

So yes, I'd just use in place of ground beef in any recipe. I LOVE making sloppy joes with that a can of Heinz sloppy joe sauce (it's one of the vegetarian ones). It's so simple but low fat, high protein and quite tasty. smile

I don't really like it.

It's yucky.

Kind of hard for your body to break down, too.

I've made yummy chili with it.

I once had a great stew (someone made it, not me) but I can't find it in chunks to try it.

I buy this, and it has textured wheat gluten in it
it's delicious as a burger or crumbled up for sauces and stuff
