nod That's about what I figured. Joss and Co. were so queer-friendly it's entirely possible they had a queen on the character roster and didn't figure it was worth mentioning.

But, c'mon. How many times had we heard Lorne come up with a cutesy pet name for Mr. Forehead while he's giving him a lookover? Angelcakes, Angelwings, "my little prince"... mushy

Mr. Forehead!? no no no!

Oh, come on! If they made fun of it, surely I'm allowed to. lol

I think that moment took everyone by surprise, but that was the point. By the finale everyone was so down and disillusioned that even The Host couldn't sing a happy song anymore.

I loved both, but toward the end, I thought Angel was better. boxed

Totally agree there. Those last few episodes represented an end of the world-type scenario. People were called upon to do out of character things in desperation, Lorne included.

If anyone is reading the Whedon-approved Angel: After the Fall series then you know that Lorne tries to compensate for past deeds after everything went to hell in the finale.

I've never gotten into the comics so maybe it clarifies things a little, but I could never figure how this apocalypse was supposed to be more serious than past ones. Was it just a device to end the show?

This time the apocalypse happened. Los Angeles literally turned into hell with each suburb controlled by a different demon. Lorne somehow rules his own little neighborhood as well, but because it's Lorne, it's a cool little haven where the residents are actually happy. I'm way behind in reading the issues so I don't know how long that lasted.
