I was forced 2 watch this nonsense. It was a money grab from fans of the TV show. It probably took about 2 weeks 2 write the script 4 this flick.

Efan said: Man, I loved the TV series up through season 4. I watched seasons 5 and 6, but they were pretty awful. But the movie pissed me off for several reasons, most of which you already elaborated on. But here are a couple more for me:
1) Either show some dick or don't. That half-second, barely visible flash of peen is annoying as hell to me--and not only for prurient reasons. We got to see Miranda's boobs onscreen for what seemed like forever (seriously, that sex scene between her and Steve at the end, I felt like I was spying on them or something), and we saw plenty of T&A from the anonymous girls Samantha's neighbor bangs. The way this movie (and the whole series, really) objectifies female flesh but not male flesh is really annoying to me. Thank you. Another insult. Either show it or don't show it at all. Dr. Manhattan (Watchmen) can walk around basically the entire movie naked in a superhero flick but they can't show ALL of the man that one of the main characters was oogling? What is up with America and male nudity? My friend argued that viewers were lucky to see even that but I felt like it was more absurdly ridiculous to even bother. Grown women like more than pecs and calf muscles. Sheesh. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

my LORD you guys have a lot to say about this movie!
i loved the series, except the first season, i really didnt care for carrie looking at the camera during her thoughts - its been awhile since i saw the first season, but didnt she actually SAY them outloud to the camera? i much prefer the voice overs of her thoughts, they added a great element and a lot of humor, at least i thought so. the series, i never watched it when it was on, somehow i missed the whole sex in the city experience while the rest of the world was going through it. i started watching it on demand when i had my hysterectomy and ran out of other stuff to watch. i was totally hooked because it left me at the point where we didnt know if she and Aiden were gonna make it... i loved him, my goodness he is a sexy something on that show!!! anyway, the series is great, lots of things they go through are things that im sure every woman can see herself doing or remember going through. some of those guys they dated bring up some crazy memories (dont even start, you know who you are!) i freakin LOVED this movie! saw it 3 times in the theatre, which is very rare for me. i bought the movie the first day it was out and to date i probably have seen the thing at least 20 times! (maybe not that many, but you get the idea lol) i made my girlfriend watch the movie, shes the one that recently married my cousin and is all 'in love' with life, her man, her kids, you know the type. i was SO IRRITATED with my girlfriend, felt like she missed everything i was trying to show her in the movie! shes all, oh my god, do they get back together? when is he coming back? i dont wanna watch this if she doesnt get her man back! it really was making me sick to my stomach to watch the show with her because she was really saying - that woman will not be ok if she doesnt get her man goodness i hope thats not the message we were supposed to be getting out of this!!! lord knows thats NOT the way i live my life... when i watched the movie, no matter how many times i saw it, the most powerful message i got was about the GIRLS, its about the friendships of the girls and how powerful they are. the series showed us so many men, in and out of all of these girl's lives. many times they thought they were SOOO in love and he was their entire world - only to find that the man didnt work out for whatever reason and they were back to their friends, the girlfriends, the ones that are there for you in life no matter what happens. my favorite scene in the movie is the new years eve scene - when carrie says - youre not alone, youre never alone. thats a great message about friendship and how no matter what goes on in life, no matter what shit you step in, no matter what you get yourself into - your true friends are always there. the fashion was fun, the music was alright, the men were cool to watch - but if you are looking at this as a love story im sure you would be let down. ^^^ I get what you're saying about friendship and I agree. But in a way the writer basically said that despite everything, Carrie would not be whole unless she married Big, despite their history. I thought that movie sucked.
I really enjoyed the first four or five seasons of SATC...but they just lost me after that. I eventually got to a point where I thought, "You dumb bitches are looking for a perfect man...and perfect people don't exist. (Try lookin' in a mirror if you don't believe me.)" They forgot two of the three Fs - and wondered by they couldn't get a man to stick. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i dont see it that way at all, she was willing to walk away because of what he did to her on their wedding day - we all know she has loved him for many years, but that last stunt he pulled was totally unacceptable, so she was done. she talked about how much she missed him, how she didnt understand how it happened, how she felt like she let herself down by not seeing it coming based on how he had treated her in the past - how many women can relate to this kind of thinking? you think hes a great guy, you choose not to see the faults because you are all wrapped up in the fairytale ending that we have been conditioned to find for ourselves... even though it was hurting her to no end and she was ever so sad without him, she was STRONG enough to walk away, and still woman enough to be happy for others - like when hudson was getting married. she could have been bitter and fake about it, but she appeared to be genuinely happy for her - in real life that would take strength based on what she had just gone through, thats yet another example of friendship and how you can be happy for others being happy even though you just had your whole world shattered. she got the message that he was trying to get ahold of her, and like many of us, she wanted to know what he was trying to say - so she searched until she found the messages he sent. when she read those, she realized that he was saying, in my opinion, that he truely loved her and that he knows he screwed up but that he would be willing to change part of himself and look at things more the way she had been looking at them. thats the mushy love poem stuff. isnt that really what love is anyway? its a give and take from both sides... you may not always be interested in what your partner is interested in, but you try to get involved and take an interest, right? she knew in her heart that she never really LISTENED to him, she went right over everything he said that was important to him and did whatever she wanted to with the wedding. he clearly wanted a smaller wedding, but she did what she wanted. he clearly wanted things on a more quiet level - she gave him a circus in his words. she was anything but innocent in the distruction of their relationship and at the end she knew it. but, did that mean they didnt LOVE each other? no... i think it just meant they needed some give and take in their relationship and to be aware that they COULD live without one another, but that they choose not to. and in the end, we see all the girls, with their perspective counter parts at the table eating at Denny's (?) enjoying the simple things in life. followed by the scene with NO men around, just the girls, toasting to the next 50 years (which is a bit extreme, they would be quite old at that point lol) but again, its all about the belief in yourself, the friendships, and THEN the men - they are very backseat in this movie. One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

Can someone explain the part when Big was in the limo wanting Carrie to turn around before she entered the library? Why did he seem disappointed when she turned his way? I didn’t get that point. What was he hoping for?
Sending emails to Carrie was cute but why didn’t he make a real effort to reach out to her all year being that they lived in the same city? What changed in Carrie’s mind that she went from hating him to running into his arms? That little tidbit that Miranda revealed? Yes, the wedding was more about her than the two of them but how did that revelation make up for Big’s not showing up at the wedding after all the planning and emotion invested? A guy that would do that is someone I could never fully trust again. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I took the movie for what it was, a movie. I did not expect reality, I just wanted entertainment, and that is what it gave me. I walked into the theater with my 4 nieces, I am 43, they are 23-31 and we had the best time laughing and admiring the clothes. It was one month before one of my nieces wedding, and the whole left at the alter bit, made her cry. We had a few drinks and watched a movie, that made us smile. Not so much for the plot, but it was like visiting old friends. Loved it.
