Can't decide (Home theatre system purchasing advise) So I'm in the market for getting me a new home theatre system and its between these two.
The price isn't a factor as I don't mind forking out the extra for the samsung one but the Blu ray isn't a must as I have a PS3 but would be nice to have a proper dedicated Blu ray player and the up scaling of regular DVDs is a nice bonus too (I don't currently use my PS3 to watch regular DVDs) The DivX playability on the Sony one is a nice extra too, same with the USB play and record. I don't have nor will I ever own an ipod so that extra I don't care for. Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie

I ended up getting a Yamaha Home Cinema in a box!
The thing sounds 20 times bigger than it looks! If I had too choose between the 2 of these dfinateyly the Sony.

I am leaning towards the Sony one. Wireless speakers would help clutter up my little room and I really don't think I have much need for full 7.1 Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie

It will upscale regular dvd and play DivX. I play regular dvds through my PS3 and they look great. I use it daily with the web browser as well and it's got loads of photos and music and movies on the hard drive as well. I have a dvd recorder but I mostly just use that to record tv and play dvds that won't play on my PS3 because of the region code. Buy an ipod instead

I have that exact wireless speaker system, not the speaker system itself, but the wireless unit for my Sony system, it totally rocks.
I have this system, minus the player. http://www.sonystyle.com/...1665532066

an entry level Denon is always a recommended receiver when putting together a low to mid range priced system. ..... that package is all around the best IMO if one is going the mid range route, do it right [Edited 4/20/09 20:13pm] To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.
