Wow, I didn't expect this much of a response. Thanks alot guys!!!  I'm all shy now.
4th of July was CRAZY in my little beach town and the next day I took a walk to see the aftermath. I was sooo disgusted and the poem just came to me. Everything in the poem happened. There was sooo much trash everywhere. I looked at everything around me and just remembered it all and got home to write it all down. I mean, it was so bad, there were tractors cleaning up the beach the next morning. People were NUTS that night: throwing spray cans into the fire and suddenly you would see this huge flare come out of the bonfire that was already over 5 feet tall... 
I live 3 blocks from the beach so on the way there I saw trash all over the place, as well as random shoes. Hence the silly ending...
Any other writers out there should give it a go!!! But read what's on there already, R.L. Buss is a pretty groovy guy. Peace. | |
