Chicago Blues fest

Hi, I'm wondering if any lovely people can help me find some good info? Myself and two friends are hoping to come over to Chicago for the blues festival (among others sightseeing things!). Now, I know its in Lakefront, Grant Park but after ages of trawling the net, tourist sites and reading my old Lonely Planet from 2004-I'm still none the wiser as to good places to stay. Can anyone in the know, recommend some areas to find safe(three women travelling!!),clean and relatively cheap hotel/hostel/accomodation? June 2009 for poss 7-8days.
Believe me, all help will be greatfully and gladly received.
Cheers(in advance)

You're Welcome. smile

P.S. Just for convenience sake, I would recommend staying down on the South Michigan Ave end. It will put you right their at B.F. What's your budget....cost per day for a room? If you give me your budget,I can recommend other hotels also, PM if necessary. I would check-out the Essex Inn. there rooms are pretty reasonable for Chicago. If you know your coming for certain, start making your plans for your hotel reservations now, you'll get a better rate. Sorry, I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

The last Hostel is on the North Side/(Lincoln Park), but(the L)/train or bus can get you downtown/Grant Park without any issues. As you see it opens next month but price wise this may be what your looking for.
