Geeksquad Question I just bought an external harddrive....now what?
1. I bought one that has 1000GB...mainly for my music, which is on itunes. Do i want to move the itunes library or just the itunes music in my documents? Any pointers? 2. I bought the one that is constantly on, connected with a USB to my harddrive and plugged into an outlet...if I should get a virus surfing the net on my harddrive, will it infect my external (through the USB) ?? 3. Can my son install Call of Duty onto the external and play it as if he had installed it onto the regular harddrive??? 4. As you can see, I'm not computer savvy per se. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The only question I'm sure about is 2. YES
In iTunes you can assign a volume for the iTunes library through the preferences - so any incoming rips and purchases go to the new hard drive, but then I'm not sure how it works if you copy the existing library in there too whether you have to add it all back in manually or not 3. He can, but it might be slower from there, since it will go via the usb connection, and I guess that has it's limitations speed-wise
