Hooray for expensive and exotic fruits like mangosteens! I bought 2 today, I was so looking forwards to eating them
but WTF!!!! 
they are meant to look like THIS: 
what the hell is that bright yellow liquid? is there an animal in there? Did I just cut through some exotic parasite pupae?

Uhm...I would say that they're rotted.

U should get your tatooed ass over to Singapore & try their "Stinky" fruit! It smells like an overflowing septic tank! Apparently if U can get past the stink, it' meant to be nice! 
Next time U go to the Gold Coast head to Tropical Fruit World! U & the kids will love it! Also while U're there there's a special Kiwi Fruit on the Gold Coast!  | |

Holy Hell!!
id take it back....(if it was expensive....) I once tried a passion friut..it cost about 5 or 6 dollars at the time & i was happy to have a new taste experience...so i didnt mind...it was yummmy! sorry about your stinky fruit. 
OK...just read that they Were expensive!...TAKE THEM BACK & exchange them...they are not allowed to sell spoiled fruits [Edited 3/4/09 22:52pm] | |

I've never seen a fresh mangosteen here. In fact, I think it may be illegal to import them.
But I've had canned mangosteens.  They were yummy, but it leaves me wanting a fresh one. |
