A very non-PC question? or not?...

Should every adult in the world have the right to procreate or should some people have to obtain a license to prove they would be fit parents?

Daily Mirror (UK Newspaper) Dec 6/02 -

Pet rats began to eat twin baby boys strapped in car seats in an attic while their mother got drunk downstairs.
Charlee Heitz, 22, has been charged with child abuse and will appear in court next week.
She was arrested after hospital officials reported treating the babies for multiple bites.the two five-month-olds and their two-year-old brother were taken into care.
Heitz's boyfriend, Josh Mark, 20, said in Aurora, Missouri: "The seat was covered in blood.Their lips were bit, their arms were bit, their hands, their feet, everything was bit. They were just covered in bites."

People like this makes me very angry.I don't know the criteria that would enable people like this to obtain their licence to breed, perhaps it would be some form of intelligence test, a study into their own upbringing etc.

ah! to hell with it, perform some form of sterilisation (that can be reversed) on all boys at birth, until such a time as they prove that they are valuable and decent members of society, and can offer a child an upbringing it will surely deserve!

Rant over! mad

Yes, Yes! But what about the question?

Maybe a little extreme i admit.Maybe parenting classes should be made compulsory.

She should be strapped in a chair and rats let loose all over her. Let's see how she likes it!

I don't know... how can you tell who will do something fucking horrible and ridiculous such as that fucking inbred bitch did?

People should be free, but they should be held 100% accountable for their actions.

No...there's no guarantee the government wouldn't eventually make some really fucking stupid rules about what constitutes a "fit" parent. Steer clear!

I don't think that parenting classes would help someone like that. It's more of a psychological, character or personality problem that would make someone so irresponsible that he or she would allow RATS to chew on their children.
Most people wouldn't put their pets in that type of situation, let alone their children.

I'm sick of reading things like this though, it's sickening that children end up dying and nobody sees it coming, and if they do, nothing is done to prevent it.

I know, hon. But what is the solution, really? Longterm is it parenting classes? Should the neighbors have been more alert? I'm not saying that we should all just sit around and do nothing, but what can we (as a society) do?

This is tragic, my heart and soul goes out to the children...forget the mom she should be punished for abandoning those children's need for nurturing.

Parenting can be a very difficult job, and if you're not capable of providing the basic childhood needs it would be better to give them up. The parent(s) and child(ren) would be better off.

I think I remember a case where a judge barred a woman from having anymore children becuase of the way they were treated. I can't remember specifics. I guess the government can regulate when or if people have kids.
