I confess I don't know the way law works in your country but in France you don't necessary go to jail if you owe money to a bailiff. You just endure garnishment, attachment, and seizure of property. Thereof you're just expelled whithout respite. So I completely understand why women with kids would rather prostitute themselves to get money quickly instead of inflict such a disturbing situation upon their kids. sometimes they do that in the states...really depends on the circumstance, crime and the judge (whether he feeling sympathetic, too busy, jaile overcrowded or wuteva). I've watched many documentaries on prostitution and pimping and the overwhelming reasons for hookers choosing their occupation seems to be 1) drug addicition & hooking is a way to support their habit. 2) run away from home and get conned by some pimp 3) get seduced by some madam who convinces them to prostitute for what seems like a lot of money. think of that girl that brought down NY governor Eliot Spitzer and in rare instances 4) some misguided chick from a small town comes to a big city for excitement and fame and ends up being a hooker. also, the women never seem to know what they would do instead of hooking which is really sad. How could you not see all the opportunities out their and what other women are doing with their lives. Why would you want to risk your life every night? End up in jail or murdered? Many prostitutes have been raped and robbed and many of them don't even have a high school education. Having kids further complicates the matter cuz some of them have kids in foster care. Again stripping is not hooking but it would be easy to leap from one to the other I imagine. Very true for a majority, but there are also those categories of women in slavic country who goes to France or States or richer countries, they prostitutes themselves during five month and go back home to assure a decent way of life for their families. There's also those girls next door who are secretary or cashier or whatever during daytime and turn into prostitutes at time cuz their regular job isn't enough anymore as they got themselves in trouble or something. I know those women are a minority but it does exist. Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity | |
