First time I saw Smokey and the Bandit, I was disappointed in the lack of monkeys.
Around that time we had Clint's Every Which Whatever movies, Planet of the Apes and it's spin-offs, the tea adverts and, of course, Monkey! Those were good times.

There are simply not enough monkeys in today's TV shows.
