They knew I was breech but since my mom had already delivered two babies breech before, they didn't think I would be difficult. They had no idea the cord was wrapped under my arm and around my neck until she started pushing. The doctor was not able to pull my arm through the cord so he just broke it and pulled me out. My arm healed nicely and I haven't had any problems with it.

This thread is interesting to me because just about 3 wks-a month ago, my mom was in the hospital after a surgery and her blood pressure and blood sugar dropped so low that she became unresponsive. For awhile it was thought she'd maybe suffered a stroke (luckily she hadn't).

She told me that during the period of time she was 'out' and the doctors and nurses were trying to awaken her or get some kind of response from her, that she wasn't in her body. She said it was like she was standing leaning up against the wall on the other side of the room, watching what everything that was going on; she could see the medical personnel, the rest of the room, even herself lying on the bed, and could hear them asking her to raise her arm or open or eyes.

I asked what emotions she felt during this experience: peaceful, happy, etc? and she said mainly she just felt frustrated at 'herself' on the bed because she wouldn't (couldn't) do what was being asked of her, like saying something or wiggling her toes or her finger. She said she never saw or heard anything else, such as a bright light or another voice speaking to her or anything, just what was happening in the room.

She said the next thing she was aware of, she was back in her body and coming around to consciousness in another hospital room.

Glad she is doing ok. What an experience she had.

Thanks.

My mom is the first person I've ever spoken to directly who claims to have had an experience like that. On the one hand it's very intriguing to me that something like that happened to her, but on the other hand it freaks me out that my mom was that close to well, wherever it is one goes to "after".

Maybe. When I was 11 or 12, I was choked so hard I passed out. What I remember is feeling all peaceful, and in a dreamlike state seeing what looked like a train or subway full of people stop at the station, the doors slide open and I was about to board the train when I suddenly heard a far away voice call my name, I stopped and turned. I woke up all relaxed and confused wondering why I was laying on the floor and why was this person shaking me so hard screaming in my ear, then I remembered being choked. To this day I always wonder what would have happened if I'd ignored that voice and actually boarded that train and the doors closed. shrug

That's freaky...reminds me of a movie I watched....something about a guy or boy dying and boarding a train full of dead people.

Yeah, I remember a show with that in it, I think it was "The Outer Limits" or something like that. It made me wonder.

Several times. The most noticeable would be:

8 years ago when I reached a strong weakened state due to starvation and dehydration. I think I was racked by hallucinations and getting delirious as I don't even remember when social workers took me to a shelter. I don't know either if they took me to the hospital first or if they called a doctor, I just know I woke up in a shelter.

This is quite disturbing because I remember seeing people when I had hallucination, especially a young woman, all dressed in black. Then when I discovered Sandman's comics 3 years ago I found out I found out the young woman I saw and "Death" character looked exactly alike!! (And I'm quite sure I haven't seen someone in disguise)

6 months ago, my man was driving and avoided a road hog by a hair's-breadth, so that we ended up in a ditch. I was ok but a bit knocked out (plus some bumps and bruises) whereas he broke two ribs and metatarsus. I thought it was even worse before getting the final diagnosys. The strangest thing among all this is I remember having seen my life moving fast backward just before colliding with the ditch...
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

About a year and half ago my friend was driving recklessly and we hit a telephone poll going about 60 mph. Not only could I have died if there was no passanger air bag, the telephone pole fell right next to us neutral
