An equinox myth? I had never heard of this before today from folks at work. They said it was a very old and popular "myth". That on the spring equinox you can stand an egg on it's end. Today they bought a half dozen eggs and we went outside, they got 5 of the 6 to stand simultaneously, then a gush of wind knocked them over. Given that I've never tried to stand an egg on it's end before I'm not sure if this proves the "myth" and I doubt I'll get up tomorrow trying to see if the egg would stand on the day after. Anyway, I'm just curious have you heard of this myth before, did it work for you if you had?

I've never tried, but I've heard this is possible -- given the correct conditions -- on just about any day. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

you dont have to set the egg on its end.
you simply lay it on its side and through the day it will eventually balance itself on its end/tip. then it will eventually go back down onto its side. we did this in school. To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.

It's a myth. You can do it any day of the year.

what i described you can do any day of the year? I'm not really sure what you described. Are you saying eggs are rising and falling all over the world all day long on the equinox? And why would it only be eggs?

A Google search will provide many links that show how it's a myth.
Here's a site I like a lot, Bad Astonomy. The guy who runs this site showed how to do it all year long here: http://www.badastronomy.c..._spin.html
