ThreadBare said: I don't smoke. But if I did, I'd probably flick a cig butt out of my car while driving from time to time...
I realized this of myself when I used to smoke. I felt littering was wrong, but noticed that I was doing it myself. Of course, I no longer smoke, so I'm perfect! My Legacy

ok i've thought about it. at first i didn't think it was worth the arguement. but it still bothers me so here goes. the notion and the word are ridiculous here. it takes two to fuck things up. to label anyone a homewrecker simply because they are complicit in an affair is off the mark. my sister was unhappy in her marriage. she met someone and started a relationship. not cool certainly... but is he called a homewrecker? i've witnessed married men looking for attention and actively seeking out someone to fool around with. if he finds someone willing we should absolve his participation because she is the homewrecker? to me the word implies that someone actively targets a married person and does not relent until he/she is successful. even with this a marriage can not be sullied unless the person lets it happen. i'm not absolving anyone of making poor choices by getting involved in such messes but i abhor the notion that it's "her" fault.

Despite my best intentions, sometimes I totally am one.
Examples: I have always said that gel/acrylic nails are tacky...but then I went and got it over my natural nails because I wanted to make them super strong. I said I would never, ever get involved with someone that was married, that I thought it was really gross. I've done it twice. Oh, there's more.... But what about you? Come on, fess up Did you know that the people you got involved with were married in the first place, or did you find out about it after the fact? If they lied to you or did not disclose that fact until after you were involved with each other, you're a hypocrite, but you are also a victim. If you knew that they were married, then you're being a homewrecker at the same time. As for myself, I believe we all have our hypocritical moments. How many times do guys judge a woman's appearance when we look like slobs half of the time ourselves? And I can't forget about one parent I knew growing up who didn't want their kids swearing or cussing. "If those goddamn little shit assholes don't stop their fucking swearing, I swear I'll take those little shits and wash their mutherfucking mouths off with soap and beat their asses afterward." Oh man, guess I opened up a can of worms on myself here. No, I wasn't lied to. I knew they were married. One of them was a serious x-bf and the other was someone that I had known for years and was involved with casually before they met their wife. Both situations dealt with their wives being unfaithful before they strayed themselves. So their home was 'wrecked' before I got involved. One is now divorced and I now have a casual relationship with him again and the other one worked it out with his wife (as much has he could work it out, I guess). I never wanted to be with either one of them so it was not like I was wanting to replace their wives or was thinking we would be together eventually. I'm no victim either.

It can happen to any of us unintentionally.
What kills me are some of the church folk that talk about how much of a saint they are then right after church they are dissing other members of the church. It gets crazy there at times. Don't laugh at my funk

I dont think of it as being a hypocrite as much as walking in another persons shoes and learning why. YOU are not a hypocrite, but an explorer that can change their opinion and plain ass admitt it live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, be loyal
