Is this a rare thing - have you seen this before?

when I was at the airshow last saturday, there was a smoke ring (start watching at about 2:20) and it just hung in the air in tact, swirling around itself for a couple of minutes. I never seen anything like it!

Similar to those bubble rings dolphins make

it's pretty rare to see dolphins at an airshow, but not totally unheard of...

Never seen it before
What was the ring for? Shouldn't a plane have gone through it?
What caused it? It wasn't a plane crash, was it? It came from the ground.

Why do smoke rings suddenly appear everytime you are near?

it was a pyrotechnics display, the ring wasn't for anything, it just happened, nobody expected it to! It was HUGE!

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Yeah, I see those every year at our airshow. They're the result of the pyrotechnics on the ground, and will stay like that for as long as the lack of wind will allow it.

Cool!

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
