What Do You Think Of The Fashions In Magazines? Some of the outfits are really weird looking. I want to knos if anyone really buys some of those shoes or dresses that VOGUE advertises. I don't buy that magazine anymore cause it's so Bazaar. Some of the clothes look like from Outa Space.

Ex-Moderator | I used to get Vogue and W.
I've let them expire, though. If I renewed either it would be W. The picutres are just so pretty. As for the fashion, I generally adore it all but I can't afford or fit into any of it. And much of it simply isn't practical. But it does inspire what I may buy next. It gives me ideas if nothing else. |

You're looking at art -- and much of art, regardless of the medium, is a celebration of aesthetic over function. Enjoy it for what it is. It makes the world more interesting, I think.
For those of us on the ground, there's tons of ready-to-wear stuff. It's inspired by those haute couture pieces, it's what financially allows fashion houses to produce their art, and we all are likely wearing it right now. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I used to get Harper's Bazaar back when I did makeup too keep up on trends. I renewed it a few years back because i find fashion imagery inspiring for artwork. But I've yet to renew Harper's this year.

I had stacks of them from the school library (they let me have the old issues) I would make collages from the images along with my dad and uncles 50's 60's era playboys To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
