What should I do for my birthday? The big ol' 24th year is coming up soon. I don't want to to go out to a club for my birthday, because I can do that anytime. It'd be like going out to McDonald's for birthday dinner.
I'm not really a nice restaurant sort of person, so that's out. I'm toying with the idea of having a dressup thing -fancy, costumes, whatever, and playing in Stanley Park at some point, weather permitting. Any ideas? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Go out and get 2 miniature ponys, 4 to 6 clowns, depending on how much space is available, 3 midget strippers, 4 fifths of Jack Daniels, 1 Blu-Ray movie of Mamma Mia, 10 of your best friends and the night should take care of itself!

Poker nights are always good fun, we host them at our house from time to time but you would need to know how to play and of course have a poker set! Otherwise go out for the day, somewhere where you wouldn't normally go. I went to the zoo for my birthday plus I was visiting France at the time and I had a lovely day and in the evening I had some fireworks.(it was new years eve though!) Themed costume parties add spice. Such as masquerade, moulin rouge, 70's disco or Gods and Goddesses etc...

Ex-Moderator | The most memorable birthday parties I went to in my 20's were the parties that were more child-themed and took place in the afternoon. I think because, like you, my friends and I were out and about clubbing and having house parties so often those all kind of blended together, but when you got us out in the daylight it was a whole different (and super fun) thing.
A bunch of us went to the zoo for a friend's Bday and brought a picnic. We spent the whole day there and it was super fun. (This one's pretty cheap, too!) We went to Chuck E Cheese and had pizza and sodas and played video games all afternoon for another friend's bday. You could do a museum crawl instead of a pub crawl and stop somewhere cute for lunch. I'm trying to think of something fun like that for mine this year as I really don't drink anymore and it's difficult to get a big group together for dinners even. |

The aquarium might be worth considering. Or even just a rowdy daylight jaunt around downtown. I do like the idea of doing something in the daylight, since I'm sure I haven't had or attended a daytime birthday party since I was 12. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
